All payments must be received by midnight on July 31, 2023.

PASSPORTS & VISAS

• In order to enter South Africa and Zimbabwe, U.S. and Canadian citizens need a valid passport with an expiration date extending at least six months beyond the date of reentry.

• We recommend having at least three blank passport pages for entry stamps.

• There is no visa required for U.S. and Canadian citizens to enter South Africa.

• U.S. and Canadian passport holders must obtain a visa in order to enter Zimbabwe. We recommend obtaining your individual visa by purchasing it on arrival at the airport, at the cost of $30USD to $50USD - Have EXACT cash available. If you choose to purchase your visa in advance, you may do so by applying directly for an e-visa. You are REQUIRED TO HAVE AT LEAST 3 BLANK PASSPORT PAGES TO ENTER ZIMBABWE.

• If you are not a U.S. or Canadian citizen, you must contact each destination country’s consulate for your specific entry requirements

• IF you passport is expired or you need a passport, apply as soon as possible. Wait times for renewals are longer than normal and could take up to 3 months..

 

VACCINATIONS

• No COVID test or vaccination is required to leave the US or to enter South Africa. 

• Proof of vaccination (vaccination card) OR a negative COVID test (taken within 48 hours of entry) IS REQUIRED to enter Zimbabwe. 

• If your are not vaccinated, we can arrange for you to have a COVID test 48 hours before our departure to Zimbabwe. We will be going to Zimbabwe near the end or our Tour.

• Masks may be required in some indoor locations in Zimbabwe.

CURRENCY EXCHANGE & MONEY

• Currency exchange is not required, but you can exchange money if you prefer. The US dollar (USD) or Rand (ZAR) is accepted in South Africa and Zimbabwe. The US dollar is the official currency in Zimbabwe. 

• Plan carry US dollars, Rand and credit cards. American Express is accepted in most large establishments such as hotels, but many smaller merchants do not accept American Express. 

• When you withdraw money from ATMS, it is usually in RAND unless you are at a bank that can provide USD.

TIPPING

• At the conclusion of your tour, it’s customary to offer your Tour Guide and driver a gratuity in local currency. Please keep current exchange rates in mind.

• We recommend tipping the equivalent of $8USD to $10USD per person per day for your Tour Director and the equivalent of $3USD per person per day for your driver.

• We also recommend tipping the equivalent of $5USD per person for your local wildlife guides per game excursion and the equivalent of $2USD per local guide if applicable.

• Tips can only be paid in cash.

• Gratuities for baggage handling are included in the price of your tour.
